Activities of the Žejančići” in the first half of 2015
31.05.2015.
After the traditional carnival events in which even the children of the “Children’s language playgroup “Žejančići” participated, the playgroup continued with its activities on 1 March 2015. The “Žejančići” started learning about the seasons, and followed on with Women’s Day and Easter. They also participated in the commemoration remembering those village people who had died in the village Žejane during WWII.
Using various methods, through games, song, acting and art, they learned the Zheyanski language. In doing so the children completed crosswords, made “memory” cards (combining words with their drawings) and baskets made from cardboard ribbons, they drew cartoons, learned to sing the song Måja (CD Viro ku mire). The creation of cards for Women’s Day and Easter were also part of their activities in this period.
In May the “Žejančići” hosted students from the Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, who carried out field research in Žejane and Mune. Participating in one workshop, students had an opportunity to see and hear how the children from Žejane are involved in the work of the Association “Žejane” and about their contribution to the project Očuvanje vlaškog i žejanskog jezika (Preserving the Vlach and Zheyanski languages).
Given that they were preparing for the making of the DVD Pipa, Žejančići created a “picture story” with the lyrics that was placed on the DVD itself.
